ATTENTION:

We want to let you all know that on Sunday we’ll be accepting donations in effort to raise funds for the American Red Cross‘ Disaster Relief Fund. Oklahoma has had a terrible, terrible week and you can help. Have a beer, lend a hand…see you in the Beer Garden.

American Red Cross Disaster Relief

THIS Sunday from 4-10 P.M. in our Beer Garden we’re hosting the next in our monthly Beer Bash series. This time up, we’re partnering with Surly Brewing to bring you a whole gaggle of brews including: Furious, Hell, Coffee Bender, Cynic, Bitter Brewer, Schadenfreude, Diminished Seviin, Pentagram and a cask of “Tea Bagged” Overrated IPA. Seriously, that’s a lot of beer. While you’re sampling Surly’s finest, enjoy live music at 5:00 and 7:15 from Pocahontas County and Luke Warm & Cool Hands, respectively. Rain or shine, we’ve still got the majority of the Beer Garden tented, so we’re good to go. See you there!

Monthly Beer Bash at Butcher & The Boar

April Beer Bash @ Butcher and The Boar w/ Founders Brewing (THIS SUNDAY!)

This Sunday’s Beer Bash is going to be a doozy. We’re talking about a Founders Tap Takeover including 12 different brews from our friends from Michigan. From 4 to 10 come join us in our Beer Garden (still tented, still heated since Spring doesn’t exist this year) for these specially selected taps and equally special food pairings that day. We’ve got Dear Data and Nathan Miller & Unstoppable Co. supplying the tunes starting at 5.

Check out the details on all 12 beers:

Dirty Bastard [Wee Heavy | 8.8% | $6] - Founders’ flagship beer is a Scottish style strong ale, sweet malty backbone with lots of toffee & molasses and finishes with a touch of smoke and earthy English hops.

Reds Rye PA [Rye Ale | 6.6% | $6] - Spicy sourdough and black pepper, tons of late addition and dry hop with the Amarillo hop variety, which lends a very tropical aroma of mango and passion fruit.

Porter [American Porter | 6.5% | $6] - Smooth chocolate and roasted coffee, nutty toffee anda slight char, nice easy soft finish.

All Day IPA [Session IPA | 4.7% | $6] - Big hop aroma leaning towards tropical fruit and citrus, mainly grapefruit. Thin body with very little malt presence. Crisp, dry and refreshing. Crushable.

Pale Ale [American Pale Ale | 5.4% | $5] - Nitro Tap, so carbonation will be very mild, some consider these beers watery. Grassy and bready with mild citrus.

Oatmeal Stout [Oatmeal Stout | 4.5% | $5] - Nitro Tap. Roasted barley with slight smoke and char, think Guinness.

Curmudgeon [Old Ale | 9.8% | $7] - English style old ale brewed with molasses and aged on oak chips. Dark fruit, toffee and raisin, slight alcohol burn.

Double Trouble [Double IPA | 9.4% | $7] - Big juicy fruit heavy hopped DIPA. An explosion of tropical fruit and citrus.

Imperial Stout [Russian Imperial Stout | 10.5% | $7] - Russian Imperial Stout, massive flavors of roasted malt and piney hops.

KBS (Kentucky Breakfast Stout) [Imperial Stout | 11.2% | $9] - Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Chocolate Coffee Oatmeal Stout…currently #6 on the beeradvocate.com top 250 beers and one of the most desired and sought after beers in the country. Smooth, sweet bourbon and roasted coffee, truly remarkable beer.

DOOM [Imperial IPA | 10.4% | $9] - A bourbon and maple syrup barrel aged version of Double Trouble. Think candied hops, bitter citrus with a thick layer of bourbon/vanilla caramel.

and last, but not least…

Bolt Cutter [American Barleywine | 15% | $9] - Founders’ 15 year anniversary beer. A gigantic hopped up American Barleywine aged in used bourbon barrels that recently aged maple syrup. Massive onslaught of sticky sweet malt and big citrusy hops. Caramel, bourbon, maple, vanilla, tobacco, grapefruit, resin, pine. An agressive beer with no shortage of flavor.

APRIL BEER BASH @ Butcher & The Boar

It’s that time again folks, time for our monthly Beer Bash series! This Month we’re bringing you what’s looking to be a dozen taps from our friends at Founders Brewing. Perhaps most importantly, we’ll be tapping Founders’ KBS, Bolt Cutter and Doom! To go with all these beers we’ve created a couple of specially crafted wursts w/accompaniments: A Founder Rye P.A. beer brat with bacon-kraut and horseradish mustard and a Smoked sausage grinder with All Day IPA BBQ sauce and creamy Jalapeño slaw (a cross between a sloppy joe and a pulled pork sandwich).

The whole event kicks off Sunday April 21st at 4 P.M. and runs till 10. Live music starting at 5 with Nathan Miller & Unstoppable Co. and Dear Data. Butcher & The Boar meat raffles throughout the event.
